Ive seen way to many people (dumb arses) think the rules do not apply to them! I think its a shame for the anglers that float the river and follow the rules. Last friday I watched a 10 foot jon boat fish 3o yards away from the flood gates for a good hour and a half...no one showed up splat

Mike, it's an aquired taste sort of thing. I mean, I Tube around 78 but I never go near the fast water down there. I don't see it as worth it running up that river. But, I can and do tube across at the tressel below the dam. I've done it for years and I am fairly prepared for what I do. The rookie, on the otherhand, needs to stay far away from it. I don't take my kids tubing down there. And they are not rookies. I have aquired some experience at it. But, I live down there.

I talked to the Lake Headquarters a littl while ago. Can still fish from the bank. What they told me is if you are on the bank, you can fish north of the tressel. However, if you are going to wade and fish, have to be south of the tressel.

I talked to Martin the game warden for about an hour last night about a bunch of stuff. this topic was obviously one of them. put it this way. i will be taking him there to fish soon, if the water does not shut off. he also told me to fish there whenever i please. there is no written law on fishing downstream from the sign under the tressel. and there is NO LAW that says i cant tote a float tube or what not on "dry" land - to the beach and launch from there. I also asked my GF's dad, whom is a big shot lawyer in Dallas, the same questions. he asked if the rules and regulations are in print, not on a sign, but printed on paper or a web site? NO..... he also asked, is there a law againts doing what they said you are not allowed to do? NO...... he as well said "go bend some rods! Fish all you want, they cant touch you because there is not ticket they can write you..." but i will respect the lauching from the beach and launch from near 78 instead. so let them try to give me a ticket. those rangers are just over reacting and bored. the only peeps that die are those that dont have the proper gear.

Carey, I fugure you must not have gone down there today. There was a couple of guys in a blow up raft. A couple of guys in a canoe, and another one in a tube that looked like it may have been his first launch. Every single one of them were beyond the sign, except the 1st timer guy. This is what brings attention down there.
I don't have the cash to be fighting even a bogus ticket. I may just start fishing somewhere else anyway. I think I'm onto something already.

Wylie, didn't see you there today. You must have been down by all the hip-to-hip-arm-in-arm folks on "the Beach" I was just yakking to some buddies on the pier. After the water slowed the fishing did too.
Guess exactly when I got there. I must have tripped the gates on the dam as I drove up...figgers. smile

He leadeth me beside still waters.
