Sounds like most agree it is a green sunfish. I caught a fish that looked a lot like that one two years ago and it was really big....13 inches and weighed 2 lbs.....do they get that big?

I'm just guessing here..but I'd say yeah they can probably get that big, and it sounds like you could have had a record holder, depending on where you caught it.
Here it says Sunfish-Green 1.30 Lbs = State Record.

I have caught them up to about 11 inches. 13 is pretty impressive but I would say it is possible.
