http://www.sportfishingmag.com/other/sen-barack-obama-on-marine-fisheries--1000064656-page-2.html

and some more reading..

guys... You fear the shadow Obama. the Obama that is presented to you by people who's only source of income is built on keeping you scared and keeping you in front of your TV so they can sell ads or sell you book by people who are giving you the same story.

Keep and open mind, and do some research.

My guess is that this latest bit of fabrication has come directly from the commercial fishing industry and probably Japan, as an attempt to halt Obama's support for a ban on bluefin tuna fishing.

Just as I posted in the OT, this is not going to ban fishing... its the ground work being laid to restrict our access to public water at the discretion of the government. The reason ESPN did this IMO is to wake everyone up, the legislation doesnt differentiate between commercial and recreational fishing. If there is even a 1% chance that this bill could lead to access on public water being restricted then we need to act! This has the potential to be a major deal.

you are very correct Buda.. once they(govt) get thier foot in the door and get any kind of restriction, it will only lead to more restrictions which can lead to our very own public lakes we fish locally. its like a deadly virus, once it gets in- it will only spread.

Keep on posting all the links you want, when access to your favorite water is restricted you can go back and read all of them to comfort you.

This is nothing but attempting more government control, just like
healthcare it is not for our health but for control, everyday
it is some new junk from the politicians.

It is interesting to watch the resident Obama apologist "whistle past the graveyard" and pretend nothing is happening. I believe this particular issue will never happen, but it is an indicator of the slow deterioration of our rights. So, be vigilant and proactive. Any power grab by any government is something to be concerned about.

Don't you people get it? Our government always has our best interest in mind, especially this current administration. We should support them in everything they do.

Its quite interesting for me to watch so many people fight tooth and nail to protect the rights of huge corporation to rape their fishing grounds of every living thing.

there is no power grab going on here. the government already has the power to regulate fisheries, Its just reevaluating the national strategy in order to do the best job it can.
