As much as i would love to see politics banned from the board, the fact still remains that every now and then, the big ugly head of scare tactics makes its way into the fishing community and those tactics must be addressed.

There are countless legitimate reasons for somebody of one particular persuasion or another to oppose the current administrations policies, but recreational fishing is not one of them.

The Obama administration has on many occasions expressed his support for recreational fishermen and their sport and has absolutely no intention of banning fishing, or any of the other freak out horror stories that are spread around the internet in vague emails with FW:FW:FW:FW:FW:FW:FW:FW:FW:FW:FW: in the subject line.

I would be a happy man if I didn't have to see some idiotic rumor about fishing bans and a lacking birth certificate when I come to the forum to read and discuss my favorite pastime.

Personally though, I just can't let falsehoods slide. I know the facts have little weight when the topic turns to Obama, but I'm not going to let blatant falsehoods and baseless rumors go unchecked.

I feel for ya Matt, personally i think the thread should be removed.

I agree completely with you...I voted Obama and supported him on other message boards, around the office, etc...and found that with most of his opponents, it was like beating my head against a tree...especially here in Texas...I now keep my political opinions to myself after this election.

Nice link, to a campaign ad! Saying one thing and doing another, whcih he has profected, is totally differnt then actually standing for something. I have read well into what he is doing, but its all a snowball effect, you start with a small regualtion that protects an endangered species then it has presidence and can be blanketed to every other type of fish to those blind green peace people, save the humans for once insead of the animals.

Just caught two reds in Corpus last weekend thanks to regulations that saved that fish from the commercial fishermen.

Bush crated the giant government...

Bush didnt put any regulation in to protect redfish.. where did you get that idea?

Bush put CatchShare into effect, which is cutting off access to snapper.. maybe thats what you are thinking about, but don't go running around the docks in Corpus praising Bush's Catch Share program.

I think its pretty obvious who has dont his homework here.

keep up the fight for the stupids though rodfather.. you guys are gaining ground, even if you are running in the wrong direction.

Oh I have SOOOO many comments about this. None of which you will like. I, as well as everybody on this forum have got to be tired of politics on a FISHING forum. Let's just agree to disagree and just catch some fish. Actually fishing is an escape for me. I work with computers, I need to escape everyonce in a while. NO MAS on the politics. I'll catch fish with anybody I don't care what their politics are!
