Which lake would be better for a weekend trip next weekend?

Athens wont be as crowded on the weekend. If you can get away on a weekday, go to Fork.

I would go to Lake Fork. The big fish are moving and even if you have to take a number to get your boat in the water. Why!! just because you never know what you will catch. One cast 2lbs fish the next cast 10+ you just never know. Athens very good just not a lot of big big fish. my2cents

I take it you got your electronics fixed... I would go to Athens. Just so you can tell the rest of the guys in the club how freakin good it is and make em feel like s**t for picking a tiny-arse mudhole for next month.

Athens has an open on Sunday, I will be there Saturday and if I find some hogs, I may fish Sunday. The water will be warmer and the fish will be further along than Fork. Less water to warm-up.

Yeah, I got em fixed. Dang, you sound bitter about the lake selection.

I'm leaning towards Athens, just because I've never been there and I like trying out new lakes. Plus, it probably won't be as crowded.
