Me and my buddies are planning our annual weekend fishing. We've decided on Lake Athens. Does anybody know of a good place to stay on the lake or very near the lake?? Mabey a house or cabin to rent.

there is a bed and breakfast on the lake road..lol.. but that might not fit yall weekend lol. there is a hotel on HWY 31 East, the holiday inn express which is closest to the lake, (The bed and breakfast is closest. it is just inside the loop on 2495 which is the lake road) these are the 2 places i would recomend but there are others. i will be out there saturday also good luck to yall!!

Thanks mayo- the bed and breakfast is probably not going to work- these guys get kinda rowdy when they get away from their wives.

I am actually going to be going on the 19-20th, not this weekend. I got a little ahead of myself there.

Mayo, do you know how to contact the people at the marina?

All I can find are hotels and motels in Athens and we're a little afraid to leave the boats out in the parking lot-- cant find anything near the lake- the # for Lake Athens Marina is 903-675-8686
