As it says. Went out to see if it was fishable. Water looks great at Gravel Crossing. Threw for a little while with no takers.

was out last week. Water was still 49-50 in most places. Very cold. Lots of current. Went up to the second set of small rapids past the GC and no luck. Marked fish in the mouth of the River closer to the bridge.

Sould be a good run this year, plenty of water.
They'll get up above Youngsport a ways, if they can get over the old low water crossing at Peacable Kingdom, they'll go even farther.
They have always run a little later up the Lampasas than they do at Colorado bend.
Their have been years in the past I have still been catching females at Easter.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Well, looks like I need to get after it again.
You catch those down in the slack water or up near the first riffle?
I have permission to fish/put in my kayak, at the Ray's place at the bridge. Wonder if they've made it to Youngsport yet?

Heres whats going on at Stillhouse. Before the water came way up, they were staging in the mouth of the river, thick.. The shad were there, the whites were there, .. everybody was happy.. Then the water came up, the trash started flowing hard and the shad and white went back into the main lake. They are now starting to stage again at the mouth of the river. Some males have made it up to gravel crossing and are being caught. These fish are scouts. There are a couple of places up the river where some concentrations of males and females are congregated and doing thier thing. The majority of the fish are still in the main lake. If you see a little green boat with a trail of coors light cans behind it, follow them, thats the three amigos. They know where the fish are, and thats how I find them. Just follow the three amigos!!!!

I can vouch for,, " dont launch a trailered boat at GC" stuck my frontier to the cab.

I used to launched at Cedar Gap and made the nice ride up to the rapids. If you're lucky enough you get to see a gator or two.

I've been catching whites here for 30 yrs. I still live just over 5 minutes from the river. Thanks for the report leanin post! BTW the rivers going to come on a rise today if it hasn't already from the storms yesterday. bill
