I took a co-worker and good friend Chris out for a day of crappie fishing this morning and we did pretty good. Fished up by the 155 bridge in about 20-23 fow. He used mostly minnows and I stuck with jigs all day. I came one strong with my Blk/Char hair jigs but ended up catching them on everything I threw at them today with a bigun coming in on Blk/pink Gene Larew 3" slab slayer that weighed over 2 lbs. Chris blazed back about 11:30 to make up for his half of the fish and we ended up with 46 before we left to make a day by 2 pm.

We saw old "Yard Dog" Gene Taylor with a couple of young'uns in the boat (I assume grand-children) and boy did he have his hands full! Nice meeting you Gene and I will keep an eye out for ya next time I'm up that way!

I have a couple pics that I will post as soon a Photobucket will update them.

See ya on the water guys...

Thanks for the "OLD" part, I felt like it trying to keep up with the grand kids. It was a good day, we left about 11 with one limit . Nice to meet you Fogger.

You too Gene! I bet you were tired after that excursion because you had them troopers out early and they really looked like they were having fun.

I was bacheloring sat night, wife out of town. The angels (Lance 11 & Will 6) spent the night with me. We got up @ 4:30.

They had a ball. We went home, cleaned our catch (Lance, the older one liked to have barfed)cooked fish for the whole family.

My son finnaly took those "RUG RATS" home about 9.

I was wore out.

Would not trade it for a 3+.

If you are coming from Hwy. 259, there is a road taht vears to the right about 1/4 mile before the bridge that leads to a public boat ramp. It is just after David Beard's restaurant. That will put you in the lake about 300 yards south of the 155 bridge.

welcome aboard and gig em aggiebacker

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

If your are going on the weekend, better plan on being there early, early or you will have long walk back to the ramp after parking. We got there Sat. @ 6:30 and it looked like the Six Flags parking lot; it was already full and there were 10 boats ahead of us waiting to launch. But everybody seemed to have good ramp manners and knew how to back a boat so launching went pretty smooth.

The name of the ramp is Cedar Springs. You can look it up on the Corps of Engineers website.

Nice fish. That Black one is a pig.. How did that white sneak in?

That's the first white I've seen in 2 weeks up there.
