I took a friend out from work. He's just starting to get into flyfishing. We arrived about 2:00 and was on the water about 2:30. We walked up to right below the rapids, just upriver from those big Cypress stumps. Wasn't long before I had a fish on. I had cast out and stopped to give my partner some casting tips. When I gathered my line back, low and behold, there was a 12 inch male. It wasn't real steady fishing , but picked up as the day went on. I guess we had about 8 fish between us in about an hour. Sesms like all the fish we caught were at the end of the drift. I was using a 6 wt. with a sink tip line and a green and white lead eye Clouser. It really got hot about 4:00. We fished until 5:45 and got about 35. All males. Brought home 25 to clean. Overall, a good day!

I went out Saturday for a few hours. Got 5 on stringer, another activated that self-releasing hook as soon as I reached down to grab him. I touched him so it was a "legal" catch ;-)

I got 'em fly fishing above the first rapids on a olive crazy charlie with heavy lead eyes. As deep as I could get it. They were hitting hard and fighting hard in the current. Fun day. Wish I stayed longer, but dinner was good last night.

Went out Saturday for a couple of hours and strung up 5 with a white and chartreuse Clouser on a 5 wt and a sink tip. There was a lot of current; I think I would have done better if I could have gotten deeper. Never did feel the bottom. They were very aggressive when they hit and fought hard in the current.
