unless the water has warmed up and cleared up since last weekend it's going to be tough. Couldn't buy a bite last weekend.

Went out today about noon to mainly check-out my boat. Fished for a couple of hours in 15-20 mph winds and found only 45-46 degree temps. Caught one 4 1/2 pound bass on my only bite using a red trap. The fish was in about 5 ft of water on a small flat

Fished yesterday from 10am-4pm. Water just north of the 3002 bridge was 45 degrees. Worked our way north past the 922 bridge. Found some water that hit 52 degrees around 3pm north of 922. Water was muddy with less than 6 inches of visibility. Winds 10-15 mph constant. Tried just about everything we knew that we've had success before this time of year to no avail. No bites. Have to agree with a previous poster, if the overnight temps quit dipping into the 30's, we are about a week to two weeks from some really fine fishing!

fished from 11-5 and found some 51 - 53 degree water and caught 1 and lost 1 in about 7 -10 ft of water water clarity about 6"

Best time for non locals to go to ray bob will be at the end of the month at the start of the full moon. The lake will be more in tune with spring and hopefully a little clearer. this is probably one of the toughest lakes to fish in Texas during the winter months. good luck

went fishing saturday afternoon.could only find water temps around 47 degrees. throwing red traps, jerk baits, and soft plastics. no takers. mainly fished around wolf island and johnson branch. water is pretty muddy. nothing you guys havent heard before. side note question. my engine wouldnt turn over after i got to wolf island. after much work and trails, we finally got the engine to turn over. however, when it started back up a bunch of oil was coming from the engine into the water. what would you think would cause that? after that it ran just fine though.

We braved the rain ALL DAY today. We didn' do well either. I snagged the tail of about a 15 lb drum. Now THAT was a fight! Other than that, I hung an ok bass, but it got off. My buddy caught one that would go about 2 lbs, and a spot that was about 1 lb. We fished several areas. We seen water temps from 47 out on the main lake all the way up to 55 in the back of some creeks. The backs of the creeks on the north side should be over 50 degrees. I honestly think we are another week and a half to two weeks out on the good stuff. First weekend in April out to be awesome!

We fished yesterday 3/6/10 from about 10 am till dark with the majority of the time around Walnut/Lick area and some time in Wolf creek. Water was about 49 F at the mouth and about 52 back in the creek. We tried shallow with red lipless crankbaits, as well as spinnerbaits and jerk baits with no luck. We then switched out deeper and tried flipping with jigs and worms around trees and hit about every tree in Walnut with no luck at all. They don't seem to be in that area yet but I can't speak for rest of the lake.

Brushog, same thing happened to me on one of my first trips out last year. It was the plastic cap on the oil resivour on the motor. IT was a hairline crack you that was hard as hell to see. Of course a new cost 40 bucks lol. motor was a 2000 merc had a crack it in. It leaked all inside cowling and you could see it water behind boat. Check you oil cap on the engine.

Brush hog, I also had a similar experience a few years ago and it was tiny leak in one of the oil lines under the cowling. I've since had all of them replaced. Better get it figured out quickly or risk burning up your engine....good luck!
