I camp there pretty often and try to wet a line when I go. I have not had very good luck on this lake. If you ask around most people will tell you to head towards to dam and the fishing gets better. I fish out of a canoe so I usually stick around Devil's Waterhole and usually strike out.

We do a lot of dock flippin here Jimmye4fish. Also crankbaits and spinnerbaits on concrete retaining walls early. Top water in the same places also early. There are weed beds up shallow that are good for flippin too. It's a tough lake to fish but there are some huge bass to be caught.

Get ready for a crowd. Make your resv earliy, I fished there one spring break and was lucky to get a spot. Real nice place though. Saw alot of nice deer just before the turn off to the lake. I also remember there was a really nice water fall along the park road, but could not tell you how to get there, it seems there was a bridge over a creek and we pulled off the side of the road looking for a spot to fish, and then we heard the sound of rushing water. There were some nice females sunning themselves. Ahh yes

How did you do on Inks, Jimmy? I'm going to do some camping and will be taking the canoe. Thought I might wet a line, too. Anybody with some reports or info, please tag them to this thread.

Jimmy,

I have fished Inks several times and always caught fish. Mostly whites and largemouth. From the park go towards the dam, the first cove on the left, right below the ampiltheater, is a good spot. I alway fish try to fish where the water drops off and look for "chunk rock" (boulders). Right down from there is a little island and I have caught a few fish right around it. Further down, towards the dam, there is along point that comes out good ways. Always caught fish , whites and largemouth, there. A few times we have caught the whites schooling on the surface in the mornings in this area. There are quite a few boat docks that are worth trying too.

If you are looking to catch whites you might try trolling the hell/pet combo around that long point back into the cove towards the park's fishing pier.

Good Luck!
