I've been planning on making a trip down to Ray Roberts for some carp fishing on the flats.

If any of you subscribe to Southwest Fly fishing then August 2009 issue had a good article on this. I went last year with great success but the problem is I have some days off during Spring break but was wondering if the water was to cold. I'm not a big carp fisherman so I don't know too much about them.
Anyone out there been lately or have any ideas?
The water was fantastically clear last time and I just waded the flats.
Help much appreciated.

Make sure you bring your own rods! Shallow Carp (LHD) will probably be missing one by then! rolfmao

Southwest Fly Fishing magazine has a free pdf download to try out their magazine, I just found out. They have an article on carp. Some may like it, some may not. They did not speak too highly of carp at all.

August 09 issue praised the virtues of carp at Ray Roberts, that is what they were referring to.

I have always heard that carp were trash fish but after stalking some I realized how fun it can be!
Don't count them out!
