I finally have a new boat, and have only taken her out once but I'm heading to Fork tomorrow to fight the crowds and hopefully some fish. Please be patient while I learn how to back this new and longer boat down the ramp, figure out the new fandangled buttons and try to get out of everyone elses way. But I can't stand it any more! Thanks in advance for your patience! Oh, its a red skeeter zx200 with black hull and black and white stripes. If you see me say howdy. If I'm holding you up just say @#$%!!!! and I'll know your a TFFer too!

I have a feeling everyone at Lake Fork this weekend is going to need a big dose patience! Good luck.

I dread the first day I have to launch the boat by myself. growing up I was always the boat starter, dad did the backing in...

Bad things happen to new boats..just take your time, put the plug in, raise the motor before before pulling her up the ramp, all those kinda things. Roger

nice boat! good choice... if your fishing is as good as your choice of boats you'll do fine.
take a good sense of humor and things will work out ok.
dont forget to get your boat ready to put in the water before you back down the ramp and you wont run into many arsses

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. ~John Buchan

Man, I'm 26 and it took forever before my dad trusted me to run the trailer or back it down the ramp and after the first try... well, you nailed it. I've never seen my dad laugh so hard. Finally some dude who was waiting offered to take the wheel and back it up. I just said "go nuts" and stormed off.

I do it all the time solo and hate it, because unlike what those bunk glides say it doesn't slide off any easier, and I can't back in enough to let it float off without getting my feet wet to climb up in the bed to get to the boat. So I usually have to push, and 2 years ago during some low lake conditions I actually put butt indents into my tailgate doing so. Then when retrieving since I have a small motor I have to get a running start and floor it or I have to crank the last foot or so. With a partner back in, jab the brakes, and it's off. Retrieving, back in a little further, they drive on and then I drive off. Much easier, or I guess I could be like Bassdreamer and get a better more powerful boat and be better off.

you guys need to get about a 24 ft pontoon boat and practice loading and unloading it by yourself for a weekend then you wont have any trouble with your bass boats!!! LOL

I just kept my head down and didn't look anyone in the eye. Actually it tracks better then my old r70 ranger. The biggest thing to get used to is the longer trailer. I was able to keep it in my lane-barely but I did. I do remember the first boat I owned. I called in sick on a wednesday and took the whole morning backing it down Buck Creek Ramp at Ray Roberts cause I didn't want 400 angry fishermen waiting for me to figure it out!
