When will this start up in full force? I saw some fly fisherman catching some nice fish before the rains came back through; then water got up and i didn't give it a shot; Any insights?

Nothing like rowlett creek or Summerville. The sandies there get sucked out of the lake..... But there are a lot of them ...

It's going to be more like about 4-6 weeks though. We have had and will continue to have more rain, which should make the spring runs really good.

Anyone been fishing LLELA for sandbass or hybrids lately? I'd like to hit it but want to get my $5 worth of fishing.
Do the sandbass run up to the dam during the spawn? I've fished there a few times but have only caught largemouth, perch, catfish and foul hooked some carp. I try for the hybrids with no luck...fishing artificials. I've seen some dandy hybrids pulled out though....so I know they are there from time to time.

I was there today. Tarponfly you were right, there's A LOT of water running right now. caught some fish, but it was a hike as all the trails are under water. Had to do some bushwhackin' today!! Not a bunch of fish but still pretty hard to fish it effetively.
Absolute pelican party down there! must have been 100 of them!

Ought to check out the RR spillway Brian.. Caught a ton of fish there over the years. Should be some good hybrids there around now.

Just type in llela.com in your search bar. Stands for Lake Lewisville Enviromental Learning Area. Or somthing like that. 5 buck entry fee open on weekends.

May the Good Lord bless you with a bend in your rod.
