I carry everything in that canoe for every conceivable situation. Most of it I never had to use, but if I did it's there. I always plan on cutting down the load but it ends up back in the canoe. It can be a real pain and turn into a lot of work, which defeats the purpose of the trip. My canoe camping list is so long that it is broken down into sublists. I even have a list of my lists. I pretty much got 'em memorized now and can get packed up and ready to go with my eyes closed.
It is nice though when you're out on a sandbar in the middle of nowhere that you have anything you need right at your fingertips.

Don't let that running water scare you. The fish are still their you just have to adapt to the conditions. I have next weekend open and was planning to do a trip with a friend. Let me know if you wanna join us.

i always like the fishing when they are releasing, some of my best days and biggest stringers came from fishing the rock wall on the corp side or fishing that big rock point on the park side...
