Hey,
Been at the coast and on the Hunting Forum ("Eatmorepork") for the past few weeks.
So has this been the slowest summer for stripers or what? Did well on hybrids early, and always seem to find whites, But Tawakoni, Whitney, Toledo...all seem to be real slow this year.
Any Thoughts? Or do we just wait for the first cold snap to find the fish.....
Thanks,
Good Fishing! "Jig & Pig"

I only fish Whitney for stripers, and in my opinion, the lake being so high with lots of rain fall in the early spring caused lots bait to hatch and grow. Even last weekend when I was out there, I saw on the fish finder lots of clouds of bait just about everywhere I went. My baits just had too much competition. The stripers I caught were plenty fat.

Tawakoni is pulling out of a 3 or 4 week lull but other than that its been a good year. With this rain and cool snap, this should start prime time on Tawakoni. RichardP, with your report it sounds like next year should make up for this.
