What would be my best bet bass fishing....I haven't been on the water since sometime last spring...just got the boat back today getting the motor tuned up and ready to go. As you can see I'm no tourney fisherman... hammer .....just looking to go, relax and catch a couple fish.

Thanks for any help!!

Brad is right the fishing is good right now. There have been some big fish coming from the 155 area. The red rattle trap bite has been good. We had a 9 and a few over 6 this week.

Thanks for the help everyone......

Gotta go look thru my tackle.....I'm not even sure I have a red trap.. nuts I know that is sacralige living in East Texas...LOL

Ok....going to head up and put in at the 155 Bridge sometime around 9am....figure I'll go start at the bridge and then just troll out to the left of the boat lane area back toward the shoreline....

I'll be in a Triton TR-21 white / black / red if anyone else is out there....

Put in about 9:30 after stopping at E.TX.Sonar to get a red trap....they didn't have any....so I thru a kinda dark silver trap with red on it...sorta fake blood so it looks injured I guess.
Started up by the 155 bridge and hooked around to the left down between some islands and up toward the end of the lane markers. Marked all kinds of fish in the 4.5' - 7' range.....no bites. Once it got 4' or less I didn't mark anything on the graph.

Finally caught two on the trap ....headed back toward the bridge in the boat lanes and right at the last hairpin turn ...right before that there is a cove to the left if you are heading back toward the bridge...two shallow areas...not quite islands...each is about a foot to two deep but there is a deep spot between them....goes to about 7'. Thats where I caught the two.

Just enjoyed being out!! Lots of crappie fishermen for sure...saw a bunch of crappie being pulled in.
