Well I know it works cause I saw the Bass Pros doing well on it but I havent figured out how to use it. I spent the 15 bucks for it and when you retrieve it, it comes back just under the surface. Is this bait intended to be fished up high? fished slow so it wiggles more? Can someone chime in and let me know how to fish this bait? I see now they have it in soft form as well (still 15 bucks I think for 3) but I have to figure out the hard model first. Thanks BP

If you want to fish the hard one deeper try counting it down and then reeling it back slowly. Or you can let it sink for a second or two and then work it back kinda like a jerk bait. I seem to catch more but smaller fish working it like a jerbait. and bigger fish just straight reeeling it in. you just have to tie it on and throw it and throw it just like any other swimbait. I like it best in the post spawn and fall times of the year

I like both models. I have caught several species on it. Fish is slow...the bait will sink and do the work for you.

OK thanks sounds like I wasnt fishing it slow enough. I'll let it sink (countdown) and crawl it back. Better get something on it for 15 bucks.

The first time I fished one was in 2008 on Lake Belton. Caught a 3+ smallmouth and a 5+ largemouth plus several smaller bass on that trip. My best success has been on one I bought off of ebay that has been custom painted in a perch pattern. It's deadly at Amistad.

the soft ones swim like the hard ones, but it's pretty much weedless. I like it because it looks like it wobbles a little more and is silent compared to the hard one. However, still have no bites on it yet?

as for fishing this, you shouldn't reel in too fast. It has great action at slow retrieves.

wait 316V are you talking about me? I haven't caught anything on that soft magic swimmer because I've only had it for about a month. There's a clear pond near my house that I go to test out my lures and such. There's no fish in it, it's just water and it's for the fly fishing club. However, it free to anyone. As for the hard plastic one I've caught a good amount of fish to make it a staple in my tackle box whenever I go fishing.

sounds like the soft one would be more weedless instead of the trebles on the hard one.

The most impressive thing about the soft one is the fall & the adjustable tungsten weights. Saw it in the tank at icast & it didn't surprise me that it won best soft plastic.

I would say they work....these were 2 of the 6 fish i caught down on Falcon with the brand new soft swimmer. I took it down just to try for the 1st time since they just came in. Biggest on the swimmer was only 5# but I only fished it for maybe 2 hours total over 2 days and you will also notice in the picture the type of area I fished it in...it was THICK and I was literally pitching it into area you would never think to throw a swim bait and would only normally be throwing a Beaver or something like that. It was simple...pitch it in then slow roll it out then hang on. The action is in the water is insane.
