I just installed a new fish fnder and needed to check it out. I was going to go to Lake Bastrop but it was just going to be too dog-gone windy so I went to Raven. Yes, there was a FULL moon last night. Yes, there were bright blue skies today. Yes, I hadn't caught a single fish on Raven the last two times I had gone. Things had to get better, right?

I spoke to a guy that said he fished Raven Saturay and caught 11 fish with the biggest being over 6 pounds. Maybe there was going to be some good fish that wanted to cooperate today! Right!? Wrong!

My Wife and I fished from about 9:00am until 1:00pm without a bite. I just don't get it.

We fished Raven today, we caught 4 fish. Three on a trap and 1 on a senko. We left at noon.

Yeah, go ahead! Rub it in! LOL!

Is there any grass left in that lake? I use to fish it all the time but haven't been in awhile after i moved. I heard they killed the grass or something in there. any truth. If so is the water stained like it used to be or muddy now?

Dont tell TPWD about the grass in Raven, They will start "managing" the lake then fishing will go down hill.

That is one of the reasons I get so aggravated with Lake Raven; it has tons of vegatation! There will most probably be lily pads again come spring.

I fished a worm for about an hour; just can't remember the color. Not a sniff.

pffft....you are stupid my friend... the only reason there are quality fish in lake raven is due to the hydrilla and pads. so quit crying about vegatation stop throwing your precious spinnerbait and crank bait and figure out out to fish grass, you will be glad you did one day...

Who in the world are you talking to? No one said anything about fishing crankbaits or spinner baits in this blog. No one complained about grass. If you don't have anything helpful to submit, then go away.

I got the impression from reading his post that he likes the grass, but the fact that he still can't catch fish there even with the vegetation is what frustrates him.
