Fished a party of 3 today with retired Dallas Police Officer Mike Greenway and his son DJ and DJ's girlfriend Maggie...Caught bait in my slip and left at 6:45am. Went back to the mouth of Rock Creek and found birds working. Two of the party were throwing top water to the bird action and I put down 2 bait rods. Both went down within seconds of each other, so the artificials stopped and we had 6 bait rods down. Talked to both JD and Wayne (Paokie) and they were both on fish. Had the entire area to myself. From 7-8:45 am we had 22 in the boat. When the bite stopped I moved to 35' of water just off the river channel north of North Island. Finished the day there with a full limit. Had 6 overs ( 2 @ 23") and 24 unders all of which were nice box fish. Released over 10 more fish, 3 of which were overs. Was an absolute great day with hardly any wind....joebear
