Tawak was not kind to me on Saturday. I threw the net at least 127 times. I caught 2 gizzard shad, 3 perch, 1 channel cat, 1 LMB (that I tried to sell to a guy fishing a tourney ), and 2 turtles.

I'm sure all the fresh water had the bait as confused as the fish were, and that it will be better by tourney day. However, I do have a secret bait hole that is a short road trip from Tawak if we have to use it. I can't say where it is because it is a friend's secret, but I will sell you some shad that I catch there. Come see me on the lake about 2:45 on April 8.

We are taking your advice on the shad and getting them early....as in before we get there.

May be taking Clients out on Tawakoni This Sunday, long weekend, trip out of Whitney Saturday (wash boat)then Aquilla for bait (wash boat) and run up to Tawakoni for Sunday trip then (wash boat ). From what I hear the bite up to last weekend was still slow, mostly a Catfish bite and it has been great. JOE!?!? .

Hey guys, I have always wanted to fish in a striper tournament. Is this an open tournament or part of a league or something? I am very interested in doing this.

To make the playing field level and since the pattern will change by the 8th anyway. Shad on Tawak are at the Dallas Pump staition fromn 10 to 20' all in the channelnext to teh levee. Just let the net sink to about 15 or 20'.

StriperHunter04...it is an open tourney. You can see all the heckling we do to each other, but it is all in fun.

The tournament flyer for Tawakoni is posted on www.texasstriper.com under the 'Tournaments' tab - the rules are there too and they are very easy compared to some bass tourneys I have fished.
