when rigging for catfish drifting with a 2oz sinker above a barrel swivel then the leader, bait float, and hook would one use a glass or plastic bead below the sinker?

dittos for a carolina rig set-up.

I don't think it makes any difference. It is just to keep the weight from fraying the knot.
