I searched the site a while and haven't really found what I am looking for. I have seen some people post up their favorites and the likes but no real info. What hard batis are working for you and where do you use them? I was a live/fresh dead bait user for a long time. I got into soft plastics a while back and love them. I use hard baits when freshwater fishing but have only found one place I can use hard baits in saltwater, wade fishing at Seawolf. Where can I get some great topwater action in the salt? Can I even use my crankbaits in the salt or will the rocks just break the lips off? I have lipless rattle baits waiting to be used. Can they be used effectively from piers or jetties? How about my spoons? Where else can I wade fish without worrying about dying (I heard stories)?

Yes, you can use your freshwater cranks. You will soon have to replace the hooks/rings.
Definitely use the spoons. I'm a big fan of spoons.
Get out in the surf. You'll catch something.

I have killed trout under the lights with rattle traps before. My entire tackle box is fresh water stuff since i mover here from dallas. Rinse your tackle off when ur done with it and it'll slow down the deterioration of your hooks/rings.

Thanks for the replies guys. Where can I get in the surf and be successful down in Galveston? One of my exgirlfriend's mom from when I was a teen used to take us out to this abandoned spot where I could see some sort of fishery in the distance where I could hop in the water use all kinds of stuff and even gig for flounder. I wish I could remember where that place was.
