I have hooked everything from sea robin (yankee fare) to gaftop on Johnson's Sprite. Somehow the imitations don't perform. Sometimes flounder prefer a gold spoon to live bait.

it all depend on which do you like to use personally. some people like to use hard lure like corky, mirrolure, etc. some like to use soft plastic like gulp shrimp, shad, saltwater assassin, brown lure, etc.
live bait on the other hand, you cant go wrong with live shrimp fish either under a cork or free line, but you gonna run in to one of those days that they wont hit live shrimp, then i would use live finger mullet.
LETS FISH!!

When I wade I carry 4 types of lures, 1) topwater Zara Spook jr. in white or bone 2) soft plastics in various colors 3) Gulp shrimp in new penny or electric chicken 4) Gold Spoon You can always use live bait, Shrimp or mullet, the trick is finding the fish. Once you find them one of the baits will work.

Get a few of each. Or at least one.
Some topwaters. Some suspending cranks. Some soft plastics. Some spoons. Some popping corks. Use with plastics or live shrimp.
You'll find what's biting.
