A better question may be, why did TPWD stock the lake in the first place when they knew the lake had to be drained to just 15% capacity to complete the construction ?

Lake Lavon and Lake Cooper were that low if not lower a few years back when we had that really bad drought. Those fish survived and TPWD never came back in and restocked the lake once the water was back up to normal levels. And on another note, a few months back there was a article in the TPW monthly magazine about how good the fishing is at Lake Cooper. There was reference on how benefical the drought was in some ways to that body of water. It described how bacteria was able to grow on the timber that was exposed to the air which really helped the shad population.

Your arguement has no merit.

That is like comparing the lake to an ocean, Muenster lake is like 300 acres, it was basically reduced to a small creek, I'm going back fishing.

Not really.

A percentage was referenced. Not a measurement of water in gallons or square footage. Doesn't matter what body of water your talking about. If there is a 50% loss of water, no matter the body of water - half the water of which it could hold is gone.

Lets get down to the real issue here:
Just come out and say it. Your the one who forgot to go back up and close the valve wern't you...

I can't believe it - I just wrote a monster post on the puzzling inability of many of my fellow citizens to discern when someone is pulling their leg, then on the very next post I read, it happens again. Mercy! (shakes head).

That said, the performance of the people charged with an apparently simple task looks to be staggeringly poor in this case. How can people be so incompetent? Then the guy says it's no big deal, then later says he didn't mean to imply that it was no big deal. No, he didn't imply it...he flat-out said it!

More and more, I keep finding callous and incompetent people in charge of things. Good thing I pretty much turned my back on civilized society long ago.

I wouldn't, myself, never join a religion that restricted my diet; see, I don't want to get into heaven that way.

Too funny, but sad really. I was planning on going to this lake for the first time this weekend, decided to search the TFF to see if there were any recent reports. Glad I did.

What is everyone crying about? The fishing is probably as good as it is at Squaw Creek.

They should be fired and pay the restitution to replace all the dead fish that was lost.

Thread might be old, but my father and I fished this lake for father's day. Its recovering nicely. Did not catch any bass, but between the two of us, we caught 50 sunfish (bluegills, pumpkinseeds, and greenies)
