Heard rumors they opened it. Can you launch or do you have to drag it off the trailer? Anyone heard how the fishing is.

It is open and full. No need to drag anything off the trailer. I don't know how the fishing is but I went down there and got skunked. I guess the majority of the whites are still at the mouth of the river. Some people said there have been limits caught upriver but haven't actually seen anything.

Thanks USMC I heard good reports up river also. You ever get into the stripers and whites at same time.

Nope, that was my first time on that part of the river. I am new to the area so don't know what it is usually like. When I hear more consistant reports, I am going to head up river next time I go. Hopefully I'll be able to find them sooner or later. All I have is a little one man pontoon so I can't go far or fast and won't go out on the main lake unless it is fairly calm. I would love to hook up with a striper. I haven't caught one yet. I went down to the Nueces and caught a bundle of whites and it was a lot of fun.

Am heading out Monday A.M. to Rebecca Creek with the trusty boat. Hopefully Momma and I will get into a few.

From the reports that they are catching whites at Bend on the Colorado, I think I'll go there instead.

I saw they were catching some at Reimers Ranch which isn't as far. Also, I wonder if they get up to Pedernales Falls SP? Both have decent shore access from what I have read and since I don't have a bigger boat yet it seems like those might be good spots. I was looking to take my wife too, and I don't think she would go in a boat anyhow as she is afraid of the bathtub if it is filled up too deep, LOL.
