Had to fight high winds and helicopter wash while fishing up the river today. The winds were high but the excitement happening in Mexico and the helos flying low overhead made it hard to concentrate on fishing.

Heard there were gunshots on the Mexican side yesterday by San Ygnacio, had to lock down the school; lots of panic

If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life,

there'd be a shortage of fishing poles

ring fry.....you will be hitting it perfect. As of now the highest wind prediction is 12mph for all week next week. Tomorrow will be windy, though.

Let's go get 'em!

it's much more important than that!

Leaving in the morning for a week at Falcon. Could you guys that fished this week add a little flavor as to baits, areas, etc that produced well for you. It would be nice to get a jump start on the pattern!

just got back from falcon last night the winds were a pain.As far as baits we caught most of the fish on 7" yum dingers with a pegged weight in either Mardi Gras and then a red with red flake. The river was our best bet go up there a ways and all I know is on the left theres a pink looking house on the left and the cuts we fished were on the right the fish we right up on the banks behind the brush. Some were out in 4-5' of water.Thne down by the island out in front of beacon fiush the south side(mexican) and target isolated trees(only 1)it dont matter if its 1 little twig with the same baits.
Hope that helps some.
Good Luck

Thanks Ken, that will help greatly. Hopefully the wind will take a break next week.

www.weather.gov

top left type in location; i.e. zapata, TX

scroll down past the radar and map to Additional Forecasts & Information

select Hourly Weather Graph - this is usually as accurate as it gets.

Headin' down Thursday, leave a few please.

When it's all said and done, chances are, more will be said than done.

I just got back from fishing with Ken and a bunch of good friends. The fishing was tough for Falcon standards. Yes, the wind and weather was a major factor. We pretty much had to fish up the river due to main water started to roll. If you go up th river next week fish shallow, the water was 59-60 and a few big fish in the shallows. Nothing was consistant at all. Good luck!
