I would set the range to 90' and go out to somewhere on the lake that you know. Go by bridge pilings. You can see the details and there are always some fish around them. You'll get the hang of it in no time.
Try the new color pallette of Amber 2 in the sun.
Ask any questions you have as you get used to the unit.

Expecting stock in 2 weeks.
Delivery can be overnight once stock arrives, but ground shipping to 48 cont states is the best option to keep costs down. shipping is $7.95 via UPS takes about 3-4 days.

Got a 998c coming. Wondering if it is simple enough install that I can do it myself or should I take it to someone?
Also, have a Lowrance 520 with gps on the boat. Wondering if it will have anything that I need after having the 998?
