Do yard work, change the oil, get a haircut, but you can take your time getting on the lake.
Hybrids are still on an afternoon feed that lasts till sundown.
BIrds, birds and a few gathering of boats are the ticket to finding fish. Throw your lure let, it sink to the bottom or give it five count and work it SLOW to the boat.
Be respectful of others working a school and don't motor thru area. Between 4 and 5 yesterday I saw five or more groups of gulls working Midlake. Plenty for everybody. Wind is supposed to be up today. I'll be out burnnig gas tomorrow.

Why dont you come work for me and i will fish with your dog,you hit the the nail on the head about motoring thru the birds.PEOPLE USE YOUR TROLLING MOTORS,dont use your big engine to PLOW right thru the birds when they are diving into a school, and you people who troll, respect the fishermen who are casting, dont troll right over were they are casting.CBASS it was nice to meet you the other day, hope to be back out there this sat.if the WIND is not to bad.Dont tell SANDBASSCAMP were you are catching them.LOL.....

I even caught fish yesterday and my boat is still not running. I was repairing my sprinkler system and birds begain diving right off my dock. I grabbed a rod and caught several before they moved too far away. Later, I saw a big flock of birds working about 300 yds off the dock. I dropped the boat and used the trolling motor to get out there. In my haste, I forgot to grab the tackle box. I caught a few before I broke off the only sassy shad I had on the boat. The only other boat out there sported a Brittany Spaniel as a fish finder. Was that any of you guys ? Good luck MO

We were there from last thursday through wednesday. We did pretty good. I was in the Nitro center console (green/white) with a TFF sticker on the side of the console. I know I probably saw some of you but didn't know it. We found the fish several times under the birds between the dam and horsefarm point. Then every afternoon we found them schooling further north in about 5 feet of water with in 10 feet of the bank. All in all it was a good trip. I cant wait to get back. The best bait for us seemed to be a Humbug in white. We would let it sink to the bottom and then slowly reel. Good fishing to all of you. Keep them going until I can get back there!

When ya gotta go you gotta go. I fought the wind and the wind won. Had 2 hours Thurs. morning before momma nature decided to send me home. Caught several Jr's, birds still on them, unless that nw breeze sent them to Houston. Mag. sandies full of eggs, don't invision much of a spawn, but at least they will have plent of windy banks and points.!@##@@*

Boy am i glad huntin season is over so I can start fishin again. Know how you feel Mo, just got mine running again after a string of problems. Mo, drove by your pharmacy in rusk last week while down there hunting, started to stop in say hi and introduce myself, but dad was in a hurry to get to the grocery store and get back to the woods. Yall can look for me out there this weekend, ill be there if the winds arent howling like yesterday. Today would have been a nice day to go---- work sucks!!!!

spoke with my father who just moved to palestine-he's still learning the lake and i got transferred to atlanta before i could show him around-he really got into the sandies on wed and thurs at the very back of saline-said it was just before sunset, they had pushed the shad onto the shore-caught them steady for an hour on rattletraps. no hybrids. said he caught a couple of hybrids fishing the same midlake area where we met cbass and sandbasscamp the week before-he still hasn't gone over to porters to get his sassy shads.
