Hi guys,
I am still down for fishing whenever you go as long as I have the free time. I feel the water clearing as we speak. Night fishing is good too since I work most weekdays.

So how do you guys fish out there during the evenings, with the gate closing at dark and all? Just curious because I may want to launch the canoe at dark as well. Sportsman, shoot me an email if you know of another place to put in (or post on here).

I'm looking forward to this place when the water clears; I was there the first time last weekend and it was quite murky, but I still managed a decent number of those sand bass. Terrible rumors, huh?!?! Fish on!

This night fishing we are talking about is being done at a private dock on Lake Travis. Not at Reimer's.

However, FishyTX tells me if u have a way of getting up into reimer's after dark, that the fishing can be excellent. I do not know of a way to get down there after dark.

I've been reading all the great reports on Reimers fishing for a couple of years now. I'm finally going to have an oppurtunity to give it a try Thur. afternoon & fri. morning .Any suggestions about lure selection i.e. color , size ? I will most likely be bank or wade fishing. Thanks for any advise & keep up the great reports.

I might be down there friday morning. I have class, but if the weather is right, and the water has cleared by then, I just might have to be sick. smile

K close,

I am mainly a fly fisherman, however as far as regular tackle, I have seen the most luck on jigs. I would buy some in white and chartruse. Just get the cheap ones from walmart. 1/16th is a good size. Just my .02

Thanks Sportsman. Sounds like typical Sandy tackle. I thought I had read about people using Pink Jigs & was wondering if they were Curly Tail Grubs or Marabou .If Reimers has not cleared up ,is Colorado Bend a good alternative? I'll be in Llano so the drive to either is about the same.

man, I got myself in a fix last year because I chose fishing over class. I had to spend half my summer making up for it!

Yeah, but the bite is slow in the summer time, so you did good.

If you don't have a boat or something else to use at Reimers, then don't go, because you need something to get up the river where the fish are. You might be able to wade fish in one area, but I'm not all to sure.

1/32oz. white jig at Reimers is the best there is. I have caught more on that than any thing else. But that's just me. You have to fish it somewhat different than a 1/16th oz. When fished right, it's awesome.

FISHED REIMERS YESTERDAY,
THE WATER IS STILL HIGH AND MUDDY. FISHED FROM SHORE AND CAUGHT 6 SMALL WHITES. THE LARGEST ONE 11 INCHES. SEVERAL OTHERS FISHING FROM SHORE AND WADING WITH NO RESULTS. TALKED TO A COUPLE FISHING FROM SMALL JON BOAT. THEY CAUGHT SEVERAL BUT ONLY ONE KEEPER. ALSO SAW SOME SPAWNING ACTIVITY. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR SHORE FISHERMEN TIL THE WATER LEVEL DROPS.

Here is question for the people familiar with the Pedernales river upstream from Reimer's, I am going to fish the Pedernales river tomorrow and I was wondering if the places to look for the whites are closer to Pedernales state park or Reimers? I am paddling a Kayak so launching from either location is OK but I would prefer to get as close to the better places as possible since I am the propulsion unit.

I always wondered if the whites went all the way up to the state park, stopping at the falls. Any ideas on that?

Is the river still muddy? It was very muddy last saturday, didn't know if it was worth going on friday.

We fished it Thursday and saw lots of fish caught on live bait. We didnt to too well throwing Roadrunners and artificial shad lures.
Water is not clear, still pretty murky.
We Kayaked it from Miltons beach to the rapids. Lots of people out there!

Is it still possible to launch a jon boat by trailer at Reimer's or is the water too high?

Also, does he still wait until 7 a.m. to open the gates?

Thanks.
