??? must have missed that one, he was thowing a red eye shad mostly... but if he caught some on somthing that wasn't strike king he probably wouldn't say do to the way the sponsorships contrats are written. He can only talk about strike king stuff...

That isnt really the case. Sometimes a contracted person will use another bait if its needed for a certain situation. 2 years ago on Murry KVD threw a Sebile because SK didnt make a swimbait that was good for throwing in a lot of wind, SK didnt have a problem because he was honest about it, and its still their team that even if it wasnt their bait.
Most likely if there was anything with a bill it was SK, but was either custom painted or a color that hasnt been released to the public

He said Gold and Gold Sexy Shad after the weigh in, but I bet it was other colors also.

he did have a small crank he caught a couple on. on his pattern, he had two feeder creeks that were six feet deep at the bottom. before it warmed up he said the fish stayed down there, i think he probably threw it in there. it was red but couldnt tell what brand it was.
once it warmed a little the fish moved up onto the flats and he switched to the red eye.

It was a gold Sexy Shad and I don't think KVD only uses SK plus Bass Pro sell other brands and he works for them to. I think he would tell you no matter what he was catching them on.

Most likely if there was anything with a bill it was SK, but was either custom painted or a color that hasnt been released to the public yeah SK was fine because at that time they didn't have a competeing product. if they had a competeing product they would have most likely would have taken issue if he had been throwing the sebile name around... Looked at sponsorship contract yesterday and that is is exacly how it worked with that contract. If you use a competeing product you can't push that product.

They did have a competing product, the king shad was already around, it just wouldnt work in the wind as well. Now they have the sexy swimmer which is better. They knew what bait he was throwing and his job is to win, no matter what bait it took to do so at that time. I know they have contracts, but almost any company would be better off if their guy won on any bait rather than losing on theirs.
