Just getting back into Crappie fishing and still buying rods/reels/equipment. Went to BPS Sat and got me a 4'6" rod and spinning reel to learn to dock shooting. What is the best size and type of line/weight /brand to use for this please.
Thanks

I personally like the Mr. Crappie Hi Vis line in 6 pound test for dock shooting.

I use mr crappie 4 lb... line visibility is everything shooting docks. This time last year I was learning to shoot. Practice at home shooting under your transom saver, under a chair (though you will probably break stuff practicing inside ) anything a foot or so off the ground. I like to use the lightest jig I can get away with, depending on the wind, so it falls as slow as possible. Don't get frustrated learning... it's worth it and after a few hundred shots you'll get where you can place it fairly well... lots of crappie under the docks!
I don't live for the thump, but I sure do like it.

I put 6# Vicious Panfish I got from Finny Tribe. Works great on my 4 1/2' Pro Angler Shooter.

I use 6 pound Vicious hi-vis line for when I am shooting 1/16 oz jigs, and have a couple rods spooled with 4 pound line for shooting 1/32 jigs. In my opinion, anything higher than 6 pound does not come off the spool fast enough to get back as far as I want to get.
