I use mostly shimano curados but have won 2 of the Bass Pro extremes at tournaments and am very happy with them. I use them right along with my shimano reels

I was thinking about buy one the pro qualifiers during the sale next week.(normally 99.99 down to $79.99) I talked to one of the salesmen up there and he said the Qualifiers on sale will be the older models(i'm assuming last yr model). Has anyone used this reel? I was also considering the Rick C. X reel(normally 109.00down to 79.00)I like the soft finish on that reel(not a fan of the purple color though) and I read the reviews on the older blue model and it seems to perform very well. Has anyone used this reel? I'm like most and would prefer Shimano's Curado but the price is too steep.

I have several of the BPS Rick Clunn's and love em. Good reel for 99.00, and have some that still work great after 3 years.

I've had shimanos, diawas, high end quantums and spent over 200.00 bucks on reels in the past, and IMO it's a waste of money. They don't last any longer and have generally given me more trouble. Don't get me wrong, I believe with sporting equipment you usually get what you pay for. Been bass fishing for over 30 years and just think we tend to be suckers sometimes and spend money on things that puts money in the manufacturers pockets and not more fish in the boat. Just my 2 cents.

Unfair statement on JM reels. I personally dont own one but have heard nothing negative thus far. "Chinese Rubbish" isnt fair either as its not a $400 reel and you havent stated the problem.

Breakdown the problem for us so we dont assume its "user error" otherwise I take the statement as SALT and check it off as personal opinion and not fact....

I have 5 of the Extreme reels in different gear ratios and spool sizes. Use them every weekend and have never had a problem.

Just curious. What failed? What is the reason you are disgruntled? This is their signature series top of their line spinning reel. I have the last years model and also an Extreme spinning reel and have not had any issues so far. However I tend to use the bubba gear mostly. Please tell your story.

I checked the BPS site and didn't see any of the RCX'x being on sale, only last year's blue model. Are the new purple RCXs going to be on sale next week, and if so, how did ya'll find out? Thanks.

Im not sure about everywhere but here in Independence,Missouri at the BassPro the Rick Clunn new addition will be $79.94 during the Classics Sale...

I just bought 2 of the blue ones for $72 and looked to buy another 5.4:1 but were at $79 so I will try and pick up the purple one at the Classics unless I go for Abu Garcia/Wiley X deal...
