Can you name some you are 100% sure of. Try to think of some good ones not just The Pocket Fisherman that was developed by Ron Popeil.
Something like Bass Boats, GPS, Monofilament Line, Fiberglass Rods, Electric Motors, Spincast Reels, Electric Depthfinders & Free Spool Baitcasting Reels.

The soft plastic worm. As I recall, it was first called "a purple worm."

1820, Paris, Kentucky native George Snyder is generally given credit for inventing the first fishing reel in America, a bait casting design.
1874, Charles Orvis invents the centerpin fly reel.
1903, Cameron Waterman, a young Yale Engineering student invents the Waterman outboard engine. The first real gasoline-powered outboard offered for sale. It was four stroke.
1938, Dupont invents Nylon and in 1939 begins to market Monofiliment fishing line.
1938, Russell Games Slayter of Owens-Corning invents modern fiberglass but it takes the Brits to figure out how to turn it into boat hulls.x
1959, Lowrance introduced "The Little Green Box" which became the most popular sonar instrument in the world. Precurser to modern fish finders.
Late 60's First soft plastics introduced with Mann's Jelly Worm.
1968, Roy Grabenauer invents the first Sit-on-top kayak for his wife who had back problems. He called it the "Royak".
1973, Fenwick became the first rod manufacturer to introduce an all-graphite fishing rod.
1976, Wilbert Gore, his son Robert and Rowena Taylor patent Gore-Tex.
I got a feeling this list is going to get pretty long.
Some not invented by American ingenuity...
Flourocarbon line - Japanese
Fixed spool spinning reels - French
