For retail price I would go with the falcon bucco.

If you caught them on sale fo $60 it is a good price.

The falcon is a better rod in my opinion!!

The falcon bucco is usa made. flag

So BIGDOG, you have used the Carbonlite rods? Are they as light as they say?

My suggestion would be go to the store and check them out. I recently purchased one with the gift cards from christmas, and I was really interested in the vendetta rod but after picking out the reel I mounted it on both rods and the carbon lite was noticably lighter. They didn't have a carrot stick in the same length and action but the one they did have I couldn't tell if there was a noticable difference. I haven't used it yet but hope to soon.

Here are a couple of links to look at. Some of these guys have used them enough to form an opinion.

I agree on the hook holder. It's the same on the Tessera rods. And I do get my line hooked on it from time to time. I would prefer it being tight to the rod, more of a clip. But I really like the feel. I haven't given it real fishing test yet.

I bought one oF the 7 ft MH trigger Carbonlite rods on sale for $79. I put a Revo SX on it. I've used it twice so far and have caught about 25 stripers with it, all deadsticking flukes. If you've done this before you know the bite can be hard to detect. I had no trouble feeling the bite. Its is fairly sensitive and has a great feel. Its lite and seems durable. For the money you can't beat it. I'm going to buy another but next one will be a spinning rod. Read the reports about cheap guides. They don't seem too bad to me but I'm no expert on rod guides. Just my opinion.

I CHECKED THEM OUT NEXT TO MY FALCON BUCCO.

I WOULD NOT PAY $10 MORE A CHINEZ MADE ROD.

I HOLD A TEST ROD UP TO MY SON NECK AND TALK, IT I FEEL

THE VIBRATIONS FROM THE VOCAL CORDS IT IS A SENSITIVE ROD.

THE CARBONLITE IS SENSITVE BUT IS OVER PRICED!

THAT MY 2 CENTS WORTH.

No need to yell, but at least you're honest enough to admit you've never fished the rod. BTW, the silly throat test is just that, silly.

All capital letters is considered yelling and is very annoying.

I guarantee that every graphite rod will pass this test, so therefore, yes, it is silly. If you really want to test a rod in the store, you can check if it is splined correctly by bending it against the floor while rotating it. You'd be surprised to see how rare it is for a mass produced rod to be built correctly. Also, "made in USA" is great, but only if the product is at least equal to the other like priced models. Have you ever handled a $280 Made in the USA Ardent reel? Would you buy it for even 50% off? I know I wouldn't.

I had a Carbonlite rod with a Daiwa Pixy on top of it. Was a very nice combo until I stepped on the rod.
