its not like throwing a net on them either, they are harder to catch than you may think. I have heard of people in Tournaments spending 4-5 hours on 1 fish

I could understand if those guys were snagging, but they weren't, the time he caught Dottie and had fowl hooked her, she nosed down and bump his bait and he hooked her on the outside of the mouth, He could've tried to weight Her for a new world record, but he didn't so that tells Me he's a honest person and plays By the rules, A lot of people would have tried it, we want mention any names LOL

This is an interesting topic. I will admit at first I was kind of against the fishing of spawning fish not because its so easy I just wondered when those females were pulled of the bed what chance would there be that they will still lay those eggs. So Im just wondering how catching spawning fish effects the population?

Just because you spot them does not mean that you will catch them.

No doubt quite a few are going to get yanked off of beds Saturday at Falcon.

No different than seeing them on SONAR. Either way you are "harassing" fish that you know to be in that specific location.

Who cares that they are spawning.....think about all the fish that spawn un-molested in water too deep to see them or the ones that only move up at night...the list goes on.

Why?
If you can flip a jig at her for hours to win or for bragging rights, why cabt he catch her on live bait to eat her?

Bass fishing seems kinda one sided. Its ok to do it to win,but if its for the frying pan,its taboo.

Everyone knows that Live Shiners are not the preferred bed fishing bait.....live waterdogs are. Jeez...if you are going to get flustered atleast get it right.
