I don't really follow the whole bassmaster and whatnot but if I am stuck at work and its on I watch. So anyways my question is this. When they have the tournament like the one on Lay Lake is the lake closed to public fishing? I always seem the guy fishing with several boats in the background watching/cheering. If say I am fishing a spot can they knock me off that spot? Just curious

It is public water you can fish it. I have seen where the pro will fish a spot 2 or 3 days and then come in on the final day and a local will be fishing the spot also. Maybe he knew the spot before following the pro maybe not. If I am fun fishing and that guy is fishing for his Mortgage payment I don't mind moving on. I think I have only heard of them closing a couple of lakes but they were smaller lakes with just a few pros competing I think. Maybe for the angler of the year tournament last year.

Nope cant boot you but they can ask you very politely and explain why they need the spot. But doesnt always work.

Been some heated debates on this subject, both from the pro side and the weekender side.
No, you don't have to move. Yes, it is considered good form if the guy asks you POLITELY.

Nope,I don't move, been buying my fishing license for 55 yrs,an avid bass fisherman(not cateherman).Won't be run off a spot espically by Aaron Martens. He seems to think he own the lake he is fishing.

OK, I'll ask. So what's the story here?
Did he get mad because someone was catching the perch that he was trying to catch or something?

I'd move...unless I was in some kind of tournament as well..He is fishing for money, it wouldn't hurt to find new spots one weekend out of all the times I hit the same lake

i would rather watch and learn techniques and presentations from these pros- than to sit on a spot and whack the bass that might have cost them half a million in cash.
