Fished Whitney yesterday....

Water level was about normal or a foot high....just right. Water temp when we put in at 10 am was 40 degrees... water was murky and trashy around McCown and Cedron Creek, cleared toward the dam. At 3 p.m water temp was 58 degrees near the rocks. Skys were clear, wind was generally calm. Only saw 2 other boats on the lake.

Fished many of our usual places.... not one bite. Fished Texas Rig, Carolina rig, jig, spoons, crank batis, and jerk baits. No fish shallow that we could find. Marked no fish on the finder above the 20 foot depth and only a few in the 20 to 30 foot range... there were a lot of fish marked at 40 feet and below depth... Fished the key spots twice, never found fish.

Yesterday was the kind of day that we normally find some fish bunched up somewhere in their normal hangouts and catch a few good ones. Nadda yesterday... lots of practice.

I just read the TP&WD fishing report for Whitney... it said Bass fishing was "Good" on Whitney.... I guess I was just in the wrong boat yesterday.... I should have gone with one of those guides or marina people who contribute to those reports... musta been those other two guys I say out there yesterday. fish
