Fished Reimers Ranch on Friday the 10th from 7am to 2pm, we caught 20 Crappie, 1 White, 1 Catfish, 10 Black Bass, 2 Guadalupe Bass, 1 Gaspergo. The water is looking goodthat rain in the hill country (rain reported on Wed. the 8th .50 inches) really helped. We were using artificials and live bait. I think run will be strong in one week.

Usually the run hits 1-2 weeks at Reimers before Colorado Bend? I guess with the drought the timing is off.

I plan on going again this week I'll post a report.

Were you in a boat or on the bank? Long walk? Where are they? They've got to show up at some point, and that is one of my favorite places to fish. Are they still selling bait there?

Went with my buddy, we have a kayak. We fished out of the yak and waid fished. The water is higher now so fish can get way up the river. I'm not sure about them selling bait?

I'll be out there again on Friday.

Curadojoe,
How hard is to launch a kayak there now? I haven't been yet this year. And how hard is it to get downstream? I've heard that there is so little water that it wouldn't be worth it, but your report sounds a bit more optimistic. I bet the water has gone back down from last week's rain.

Please post a new report after your Friday trip.

Thanks,
John

I fished on Friday the 17th. It was cold and windy. Not much luck. With the rain we just had, I'm sure the water level is looking good. I'll try again this friday. I'll post again on monday.

Hey yall need to look off of the 71 bridge up the river and you will see why there are not any big shools up there. It was almost bone dry at the first bend the last time I looked. You have a better chance fishing somewhere else. Bend is hot right now. And the crappie are definitely spawning further down stream.
