A big thanks to the 18 teams who joined us for this season opener event. Good to see some familiar faces and some new ones as well. Hope you guys will join us for our next event of this series on March 13, 2010 on Lake Palestine out of the Villages. All I can say is WOW!!!! There was some impressive stringers and very healthy bass weighed at this event, the fish are loaded with eggs and ready for a warming trend. A 20lb sack is hard to put together. 20+Lb sack is an accomplishment.

Not trying to diminish anyone. 20lb sack is tuff but not superhard. Thats all I was pointing out. There has been numerous times on this lake this time of the year a lot of fisherman put together a 20lb sack. I know for a fact a lot of anglers that do not fish tournamnets go out there day in and day out and catch a 20lb sack. Bigger fish become a lot easier to target this time of the year. They are more active and not scattered deep. A 20lb sack usually consist of several good keepers along with a decent kicker. This is a great time of the year for all anglers: tournament anglers and the recreational angler.

I am awful on Tyler so the isn't saying much, but I don't think I my best 5 in in the past 4 months on tyler would get me 20lbs. This was really impressive today. Fishing tackle next time you go out weigh each fish. Some of those nice ones may not be as big as you think.

Wish BLT would have fished. Had no ice on any roads near south of the lake. I think some people held out till they could find some fish. I thought it was fishing not golf.
