Went out to Hubbard again yesterday. Ended up doing pretty decent. Was very suprised at the lack of shad in the deeper water. Looked around in the deep water for a while before slowly heading shallow. Tried a differant arm of the lake today. Ended up catching 9 fish, with a 25lber being biggest. All others with the exception of 1 were in the teens. Really starting to like this lake. Bait of choice today were 4-5" live perch. Fish caught in 1.5'-2.5' of water.

I couldn't believe it either, but no shad = no fishies.

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

We were fishing weed lines and brush that have washed into the lake at the mouth of the creeks that have stained water.
