I am looking on planning a trip to Texoma for some stiper fishing and looking for a little imput.

1. I have been looking at possibly booking with Capt Cal, and wondering if anybody has any experience with him.

2. I am looking at booking this trip in late May, is that a good time to catch some stripers or should I move it, if so what times of year is the best. I need to do it before June 12th though.

Thanks,

Never used Cap. Cal, but if he is still in business he should be O.K.! My experience is with Carey's of Striper Express. Very Good!
Have made 3 to 6 trips per year the last 12 years, been there every month of the year. There is no bad time to fish Lake Texoma, some are just better than others!!!

April-May is a great time to go. If you like to lure fish then check with Chris Carey/Striper Express.

My best stripe trip was with JD LYLE 107 stripers with only 7 under 20 ". I even had a friend from out of town to help the jinx but JD came thru. All on jigs with trailer in shallow water. We actually had to put the rods down for a bit to relax the arms

May is awesome on Texoma. Infact it is so awesome, many guides may already be booked up then. JD Lyle is great, Bob Wilson, Chris Carey as well. JD is so good he often has an entourage following him around the lake (those that know his boat know what I am talking about).

What was that?

Cant go wrong with JD or Chris. What type striper fishing do you prefer? Live bait or lures? No matter who you book be sure to ask.

I think we are possibly looking for live bait, and I know that JD does that. I am trying to have a bacholors party so we probably dont want to cast lures all day and relax and sip some drinks.

TheMic,

Noticed you're from Tyler. Left you a PM concerning future fishing opportunities in the East Texas area. We're from Whitehouse and fish Richland Chambers.

Several great Texoma Guides on the TFF.

However, if I was going to Texoma, I'd hook up with JD! Quality Guide , but even a better person! You wouldn't be disappointed!
Good Luck and Good Fishin'!

Thanks,
