I have one of those short (~18") nets that you hang on your back while fly fishing. This past year while I was in Colorado creek jumping, I had several fish get unhooked because I just couldn't stretch my arm and net far enough out there. I was wondering if you guys could recommend a longer handled net that could easily be carried while creek jumping.
A guide I used a couple of years ago had a 3-4' net he carried. It made it easy, but I don't want it to get in the way.

Measure Nets I got the big one and it does the job. The only problem is the soft netting will snag loose hooks

Just to add to the mix, GremlinFishing on eBay has some long handled nets on sale http://stores.ebay.com/Gremlin-Fishing

Thanks. This gives me something to look at. I need one less reason why the big one got away.

I have a longer handled Wachter net. I have the catch and release model that has a large opening, a longer handle, a clear net, and is made of mesquite. The extra lenght on the handle and bow of the net allows me to reach way out to grab fish. http://www.wachternets.com/guide_nets.htm

I know I'm a little redneck, but I would find a piece of PVC that just fits over the handle of the old net. Then put a screw in it, and cut to size.

Great stuff foam is great stuff. And remember, if women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

I use one of those frabill rubber netting trout nets. I think they make a long one for bass boats that is telescopic
