are you familiar with the Great Texas Bass Club? I think they've changed their name but it's a club with annual dues, then you pay a day rate to fish from a list of private lakes. They monitor pressure by limiting the number of people on the lake on any given day. I think most are limited to 3-5 people a day. Here's a link with the list of lakes at the bottom of the page. http://www.gtbc.com/fishingsitestexas.htm

Have leased a 50 acre watershed lake in southeast Kansas since the early 70's. Allows us to manage the fishery and enjoy the fruits. A little history..... First year (1974) lots of 2-3lb fish, next year 4s etc. We found alot of moss the 2nd year and stocked Muir (sterile carp) wich cleaned the lake out completely. But we had a great shad population so with poor spawns we had the fish grow like wild fire. By year 5 you couldn't fish all day without severl 6s. The year 7 caught alot of 6s and a few 7s. From there to year 10 a day without a couple of 7s was slow but shoreline grass was making the bedding real productive. Since then we've had up and down years for big fish but last spring which is 36 years we are still getting big fish and having great spawns. Not expense if you have several folks in on the lease and sure fun. Big fish to date is a 9.9 but have hooked and seen what we thought might be Kansas state record (11-4) May 2009
