OK Hal, just trying for a "joke", besides, typing with only 2 finger, bote was quicker than hunting for the "a" in boat . . . . BTW, LOTS of wind & waves on Pool today. Spent more time learning the new ride than fishing. We did catch 3 smaller sandies, but after looking at the wind/waves, we were not really hunting that hard for fish. The new boat is a 17' Boston Whaler & I am pretty happy with it so far. We got a little wet, but no problems with the waves/wind! Now for Baffin Bay this Thurs! PDS

Ya, the wind was crazy, I cant believe you even tried it to be honest. Lynn Creek Marina was so full Saturday it looked like 4th of July.
I had 3 clients, 2 brothers and their 91 year old Dad out Saturday. We had a slow start but finally found them and finished the trip off with 48 sandies.
Nice pick for a boat Aggie91, and ya, I had to pick on your spelling. Hollar at me some afternoon if you decide to go out, I can show you a few places and wouldnt mind riding in someone elses boat for a change.

Hal - Good to see you back on the water at Joe Pool. Sandies must be starting up again. Hope to get with you in a couple of weeks.

Will do Hal! It may be a week or so, my wife & I are headed to Baffin Thurs nite to try for some trout & reds. I got in touch w/Leroy & he hustled out some of the new red humdingers to me today. . . they look like they would catch a redfish or two. Also, with the wind at 17 - 25 mph, I thought that using a good "bullet" for casting would not hurt either Oh well, I guess the wind at Pool was just practice for Baffin . . . . Have a good weekend, hope you get into a bunch of 'em! Aggie91

HEy Hal, sounds like you are the man at Pool. Any good reports? Going to be out there Thursday and Friday? Like to get kids in some sandies.

Ag, Baffin is slow right now. Was there 2 weeks ago. However, the reds are thick. www.billsheka.com has a good report area and has some killer trout videos from Baffin.

Thanks for the link catfishsalsa, I will look them up! Can't have too much info. We are meeting my nephew down there. He lives in CC area & I have already told him that his "rep" as the family guide is on the line. I really hope we can get my wife on some good reds & trout!
See Yall next week!

Pool was pretty good last weekend. We started at 8 which was too early. My clients boated a few fish in the first 2 hours but it was slow. We found the fish off the humps in 36 to 40 feet of water. They finished off with 48 and only caught 2 undersized fish.
With the lake being 5 feet low its a complete diferent lake than when it is at pool level. Firemans, the flats and the ridge are dead on top and you have to fish the edges to find fish. The birds are there but so are the patrons of the Oasis with bags of bread to keep their mind off of what they need to be eating.
I saw an awful lot of birds at one poin Saturday over by the dam. We rushed over and slipped up on them. There were alot of birds but the ones diving werent coming up with anything. I looked over at another boat and we just looked at each other. The birds were there but the graphs were empty. We went back to the flats.
It looks like a nmiserable weekend so I doubt I will be on the water much. I was supposed to take B.J. Fowler to CC but we just rescheduled it.
