MAn heck of a fish congrats on the sharelunker!!! To all of the negitive ppl that say choke is going down hill and over fished HA!!! That is the first of many sharelunkers to come out of this lake!!! Again congrats on a bass of a life time!!! Its the numbers that are going south big time on Choke, not the size. Catching a limit is getting harder to come by on most days. The toads are still there and with as many boats that are on the water there will be maybe 10 with enough lucky and skill to boat some of these monsters. The days of going to Choke and catching 30-40 fish are probably few and far between for a good while (unless you like fishing 50' of water). This being said, congrats on a great catch it looks like she was well taken care of. Any word on if she made it to Athens ok?

Tyler, this was a very intelligent post, I can tell that you actually see the big picture. I can not understand why so many bass anglers dont want to protect our resources adn thnk it is negitive to be passionate about protecting TX fisherys! We can not just continue to tak and take and take without any reprocussions, its just physics! I am a local Choke Canyon angler and fish the lake on a weekly basis. i get to see the big picture instead of just hearing about the big fish that are caught! Anybody that fishes choke on the regular can see that it has drastically declined over the past several yrs. 3 yrs ago you could just run banks all day with a spinner bait and catch 50 fish and several over 5's! Now you muyst work way harder to just catch a decent limmit! Now, Im not trying to be negitive at all. Trust me, I wish that Choke was still like it was 3 or 4 yrs ago, and I would gladly say so oif it was. Im just being honest. And, it will continue to decline with the way things are going. Sure, it will still be a great lake and produce many sharelunkers, but the truth is that it is nowhere near where it could be! BTW, every sharlunker turned in last yr died! I bet those 15 lbers would reach 20 way before any of the fry grown by sharelunker! there is just too high a deth rate! Im not negitive at all, just passionate about bass. I want us all to enjoy great fishing for a long time. These are just my opinions on how to accomplish this, I could be wrong. Regardless, the sytem and line of thinking of many TX anglers is just not getting it done or right!

the question to be asked is why and the answer is improper care before being donated. the angler does get to choose where the fish winds up at the end of the year and choke bass can be sharelunkers and returned home... with proper care of course, just sayin.

Jigawho u seem to always amaze me with ur total BS!!! Not ot rob this post but ur going to believe a person that lives pretty far away about numbers in the lake!!! You are one funny guy!!! Like i have posted before choke is always slow during the winter time!!! Have you ever thought of ummmmm.... A cold winter, more rain than usual. All of this plays a factor in the fishing and once again choke is always slow in the winter!!! Man you always high jack posts with your negitive garbage, and frankly ppl are tired of it!!! If you expect to boat a limit i would be bank pounding with a spinnerbait every time you go out there man just some advice. So stop crying and catch some fish!!!
