Too funny Jason and thanks for posting, I had a feeling that people thought I was full of it. I take it that the fish are still biting? Awesome!! Looks like you got a few sandbass this time too. Have you caught any other hybrids and are they coming from the deeper of the point or more near the shore? I guess the question is, how far did you wade for those dudes? I will be back in town tonight and will probably head out there tomorrow. If you get free, meet me out and lets see if we can get a limit of those guys. The fishing down here at the coast rocks and thanks for posting the pics. The only pics I have are all the ones I have been taking with my phone. C ya

ensignjason, Nice!! Thanks for the pics and good report on BB (thanks piepuncher too). I haven't been able to get out there due to business travel and some health issues with my Mom, but I'm itching to go once the lake level allows launching again (maybe 5 weeks off at current pumping rates - - sooner with some rain - - come on rain!!).

Only one of the fish is a hybrid and it is a keeper, the smaller fish are sandbass and are also legal. I was out with him and know he would throw it back if it was not legal. Jason is a good guy and respects the law, he's just been going out and having a good time. I will hit the lake up first thing in the morning, my hands are sore from all the hard saltwater fishing but I cant get enough. I will take the fly rod out tomorrow and see if I can hook into a monster on it.

so are they running still??? I haven't been near mustang or the other stream around the corner that produces well, i figured the lake was too low to even give em enough water up there... any info would be great.... FYI i use to live on the hill that over-looks mustang

Well I caught several Sat-- Today we caught several SMALL sandies 4-5 inches but it could have been a fluke--I think Ill try again tomorrow. Just find a good point over by Mustang and you should do really good. Just dont wade out too far at first. Several of my fish were caught close to the bank--As for the fish in the pic. All were legal-one was in the ice chest and if you look at the pic the fish is curled up making it look shorter. 250 bones is a little to expensive for me to pay for a couple of filets! Good luck ! Let me know how ya did!

Went out this morning and finished with 13 sandies and 0 Hybrids. For some reason they were not there today. Also caught quite a few yellow bass. Jason, did you happen to notice if any of the sandies that you caught had a yellow tint on the side of them? I caught quite a few small yellow bass and I remembered you talkiing about catching a few very small sandies. I did manage to hook into something giant today but after 40 minutes or so, the thing pulled free. It felt like a big cat by the way it hit and the slow steady pull it gave me. The line never broke but after a long fight, the fish just pulled free. I was the most sad dude ever once the fish pulled.

Almost all of the sandies that we caught were a yellowish tint--weird huh? Anyone have any idea what causes that?
