What a great day on LL! Noticed egrets hovering near center of lake in the timber about 8:30 am...boats beginning to gather....some sandy surface action, but the hybrids were gathered near the bottom. Humdingers and slabs were the lures then. A couple of buddies and I caught tons of magnum sandies and several keeper hybrids. We kept only 5 hybrids to about 5-6 lbs. and about 15 sandies. The rest went back in to be caught another day. Fairly constant action til we left at 2:30. Wind was light and temp was fine. What a day!

Bob, I usually fish Ray Hubbard or Richland Chambers, but have thought about trying LL. Where is a good place to launch? I would be coming up 35. I live in Mansfield.

The floating raft of boats, egrets, herons, and fish started out somewhere just south of the gravel pits about 7:30 and moved south to within a couple of 100 yards of the dam by the time we left about 11am. Thought I had made a mistake and gotten out there on the weekend, there were always 25 to 30 boats in the group........on a Tuesday morning. Kind of neat to see the flock of egrets resting on the tree tops, with the trees just a couple of inches under the surface the birds looked like they were standing on the water. Plenty of fish to go around, schoolie sandies on the surface, larger sand bass and hybs underneath, just a matter of what you wanted to catch and how hard you wanted to work. Looked like everybody out there was having a good day.

Old Birdeye, you may just want to launch from the State Park. Take I-35 North and exit F.M. 407. Turn right and go thru the light (head east). Next, you'll come up to a stop sign. Continue past the stop sign and then make your first left. You should see some soccer fields to your right. When the street dead ends, make a right and pay at the gate.
There are two boat ramps to launch from. Good luck!
When all else fails, make another cast.

I was out by you guys today and the action was none stop but heavy for 1 hour and after a 20 minute slack time it started up once more. In 2 hours I ended up with 18 magnum White Bass and 3 nice 5 lb. hybrids. The catch of the day was a 27 inch hybrid that I released. I tried the bottom but got hung up much to often for my taste. In all I caught close to 60 fish in 2 hours. I was fishing with a new Holographic Wild Eye Swim Shad, Pearl Color, 3 inch . I tried a 2 inch but they preferred the 3 inch. I am thinking about going out in the morning and trying my luck once more.

Yeah, it's misleading. It's called the Lake Lewisville State Park. I purchased a Lewisville annual pass, which is different/separate from my Texas Park Pass.
When all else fails, make another cast.

Bob, It was good to see you out there. The action was great this morning, I ended up catching and releasing 8 hybrids and a bunch of large sandies. Most of my fish were caught on DTA slabs. Caught a lot them ripping the slab to the surface. Did loose a couple of nice hybrids and a couple of slabs in the trees though.

There are two boat ramps to launch from. Good luck! This is not a state park. It is Lewisville City park and unless you live in Lewisville it is a rip off. $10 to launch. I have a state park pass and they won't take it there! I would go across Lake lewisville bridge on I-35 and exit the first exit immediately after the bridge. When you exit there is a right turn within 50 yards of the freeway slow down or you will miss it. There is a sign that says Arrowhead park on your right. This is a decent ramp and launch fee is $3.00
I feel more like I do now than I did when I first got here!

Bob, Thanks for guiding today. Mike and I had a great day. We appreciated the invite a the company . Mike said he hadn't caught the numbers and quality of fish we did today on the either of his last two guided trips to Texoma this year. You were the man with a plan on Lewisville today Good Luck on Texoma this week. Hope the "Fishers" can get into the stripers like we got into the hybrids today! Drive Carfully now...Especially on tight corners Maybe we can go again before my summer break is over. HB22

Bob the boys and I were out there too. That water was so smooth that you could see the clouds on the surface. Made for spotting those schools easy! We did well on the above mentioned baits but also went to using top water prop baits and my eldest hung an 18in Highbred that hit the so hard I thought some one threw a rock in the water. Oh if the guy in the white center console is reading this thanks for being patient when the youngest crossed your line. I was probably too close and that was his best cast of the day!

Thanks for all the help and info. guys. I may see you out there on Thursday. I don't know what is up with RH, but this is the first year that I have had tis much trouble catching fish there. I assume it is weather related, but I don't know why LL is not being affected the same way. Kinda weird!
