Attention:
The Recall is over. If you are not aware >>>>> Toyota has fixed the problems on all Toyota's in stock. We will be having a Recall Sale this Weekend. (Friday & Saturday)
All Corollas are 0% for 60 months
Toyota also has 0% on everything except for the Land Cruiser, Prius and new 4-runner. Keep in mind Toyota is currently offering the $1000 owner loyalty if you currently own a Toyota.

Thank You,

I got this email from one of the Toyota Dealerships this morning. It seems they have fixed there entire stock of vehicles yet have made no effort to fix any on the road.

I replied back as to when they might be able to fix the two sitting in my driveway but doubt I'll hear anything.

Ford is starting to look pretty good right now.

I've been a Ford owner for the last 15 years. I love my F150's, but they are proud of them and dont seem to offer the discounts and rebates other dealers do.

You got that right along with somethings that should have been but were not. As far as deals go it is all about supply and demand. If demand is equal to or greater than supply you will not get a deal. I remember looking at Toyotas in the early 80s. I cruised through a lot and looked at some stickers. They were busy wo I just called and asked how much the discount was from sticker. They said non and you could add $600. This was on a $9-10000 vehicle.

The Toyota CEO stated that the priority was to fix cars already on the road. I figured that there might be a few dealers doing it the other way.

Well I was wrong. They replied and said to bring both vehicles in for repair.

From Texas Toyota:

You are welcome to come to the dealership and get them fixed. I can set you a time to come in if you like.

Toyota has gotten some heat over the handling of this recall, though I think they will be just fine once they get it over with. Their resale will be hurt temporarily too but that will recover, if anything it will be a good time to get a deal. Ford has had their share as well as GM, so nothing new to the industry.

As far as rebates go Ford offers them just as much as the other makers. Usually they tend to be lower with the new models and get higher as the models age to try and keep competitive. It is interesting with how the economy is that some of the rules are going out the window.

God help 'em if that little "postage stamp" fix doesn't put an end to the crashes. There are plenty of naysayers out there that claim it's still in the electronics. They might recover if this recall actually works.

Might recover? Even if they get it wrong they will recover... they'll be fine.

I love my Tundra but I'm not doubting that it's a computer problem.

On a side note, Toyota will be recalling the Tacoma due to cracks found in some driveshaft part by the manufacturer. I think it's a driveshaft yoke. Toyota says they will recall effected Tacomas to replace the part before there is a problem (None reported yet). Ford escort uses the same part and says it will not recall because those cracks are within spec for them. Nissan also uses those parts and say they will not recall because the failure would not cause a threat to the people in the vehicle if it were to fail. Out of those 3 answers, I prefer Toyota's.

There are lots of law suits being filed against Toyota right now. One is a class action suit for depreciation of car value and they expect $800 per plaintiff.

Here's the article about the part used for Toyota, Ford, and Nissan:
