I crappie fish G-town regularly, but mostly at night, due to the amount of boat traffic during the day. With the lake rising and all the mud/junk in the water, I feel like the crappie will be difficult to locate. First, I would check the river channel that is very close to bank down most of the length of the bluff that is across from Russel Park, next I would check the large cove where the ramp is for Jim Hogg Park. Also there are a number of coves off the main lake that are loaded with flooded timber, that should have crappie in them, but with so much timber, I have a tough time finding the right tree.
Good luck and let us know how you do.

They are deep right now. Last week we were catching them about 35' down in 50' of water, near the bluffs. All the new water from last weekend has likely shut the bite down though. The lakes need to settle a bit. Crappie are more sunsitive to water fluctuations than most other species.

Check the new brush piles that the Corps and the Bass Club dropped in the lake a few years back.
